In his book The Miracle Morning, Hal Elrod breaks down a morning routine you can do in just under 6 minutes.

Elrod believes it's possible to be effective under six minutes, so we’re here to put his theory to the test.

According to Elrod, here’s how to be effective in six minutes or less each day.

Minute 1 — Start your day peacefully. Do a light stretch and then sit quietly for a minute. You can meditate, say a prayer, or just think about the day ahead. (1 minute)

Minute 2 — Read your daily affirmations — something that reminds you of your potential and what’s important to you. Say them out loud. (1 minute)

Minute 3 — Close your eyes, look at your vision board, or something that represents your goals. Visualize what achieving those goals will feel like. Use all your senses to really picture it. (1 minute)

Minute 4 — Take a minute to write down things you’re grateful for, big or small. It could be anything from your home or loved ones to something simple like the pen you use or the breeze on your face. (1 minute)

Minute 5 — Pick up a non-fiction book and read one page. Yes, just one page. The goal is to build a reading habit. It may not be much, but it’s something, and you’ve only got a minute. Here are 4 books to try:

  1. A Calendar of Wisdom by Leo Tolstoy
  2. The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday
  3. Daily Rituals by Mason Curry
  4. A Life of My Own by Karen Casey

Minute 6 — Finish with some movement. Set a timer for one minute and go all in. Do as many push-ups, jumping jacks, squats, or yoga poses as you can. Just pick one and go for it. (1 minute)

Your mind, body, and soul will definitely thank you if you give this a shot. You’ll be surprised at how much you can do in just six minutes. So why not give it a try? It might just become your new go-to morning routine.

Thanks for reading! Hope this helps.
