Brené Brown, PhD (born November 18, 1965) is a research professor at the University of Houston.
She has spent the past sixteen years studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy.

She’s a mother, a wife, and the author of seven #1 New York Times bestsellers.
In Braving the Wilderness, Brown elaborates on what it means to truly belong in an age of increased divergence. She outlines the importance of finding our way back to ourselves and to each other by way of braving the wilderness.
