Fears come in many forms

According to Eckhart Tolle, fears come in many forms: unease, worry, anxiety, nervousness, tension, dread, phobia, etc.

This kind of psychological fear is always something that might happen, not something that is happening — now.

The psychological condition of fear is divorced from any concrete and actual immediate danger.

“You are in the here and now, while your mind is in the future.” Said Tolle. As a result, this creates an anxiety gap.

Watch out for any defensiveness within yourself. Tell me: what are you defending?

A false identity, an image in your mind, a fictitious entity?

What is it?

Once you got an answer, I’d suggest you make this pattern conscious.

Witness it, so you could dis-identify from it.

As Eckhart Tolle observed:

In the light of your consciousness, the unconscious habit will then quickly dissolve. — Eckhart Tolle
