The Sacral Chakra is also called the naval or the sex chakra. In Sanskrit known as the Svadhisthana (pronounced svah-dee-shtana).

This chakra is the key to your connection to creativity and that of the universe.

It’s correlated with the pursuits of artistry, imagination, and your capacity for change in all areas.

  • Location: Just above the pubic bone — Three fingers below your navel/belly button in the middle of the abdomen.
  • Body associations: The sexual organs, kidneys, urinary tract, spleen, bladder, gall bladder, hips, lower back, skin, and tongue.
  • Color: traditionally associated with the color Orange.
  • Element: Water.
  • Vibration or mantra: vaam.
  • Principles: duality and cyclic change, emotions
  • Key benefits: Experiencing the joy of the senses
  • Key obstacles: Guilt, attachment/aversions, and denial of emotions.
